Hey noobs! Erica here 🙂 Welcome to the start of my new lil series that I’ve decided to contribute to the Crypteia site! This series will be all about me nerding out in Oldschool RuneScape to achieve.. or TRY to achieve, the status of max tank. It won’t be pretty. It won’t be a masterclass. But it will hopefully be a fun one.
With each episode that I post I’ll be sharing some of the things that I get up to along the way, which includes progress on the skills that I need to pump up in order to like, you know, get that “max” achievement, but I’ll be also sharing some of the progress on my questing adventures and other mishaps that occur along the way!
My current goal: 99 ranged
Current ranged lvl: 90
^ These stats took me a LONG time to achieve! Granted, I haven’t been THAT active for a lot of it =(
Why am I going for 99 ranged right now you may ask? Because I feel naked without it! Having 99 ranged is perhaps the most important skill to have as a max tank! And having that pretty 99 sitting there along the journey will motivate me even more :))
Buuut … Along the way to 99 ranged I’ll be doing plenty of questing to keep my sanity in check and to give my poor character some fresh air outside of the Nightmare Zone! For the questing I’ll be focusing on getting Recipe for Disaster done during this phase, which, of course, rewards you with the coveted barrows gloves at the end…. and these are just a must have thing for any player who is above 40 defence. Or is 35 the minimum? I don’t know!
My gear setup isn’t the best of course. I’m not quite rich enough yet to afford Masori and some of the other cool kid stuff!
At the moment I’m not sure if magic shortbow (i) is the better way to go or if I should be using a crossbow setup. Nonetheless, the Nightmare Zone is super afkable so I can’t really complain about any XP disparities.
A friend of mine may join in the fun too if she finally decides to make a tank account! Oh, and when he’s not larping as a dinosaur in The Isle, Kruger might also join us on the journey with his baby little main account =D
I don’t have much to share in this first episode.. I’m totally new to this stuff after all! .. But I promise the next one will have a lot more content in it 🙂
